... slow but steady.
It's not Earth-shattering but it is something I've been meaning to attend to for a while - a horizontal scrolling div for the thumbnails in the image gallery. The solution has proved to be relatively simple, as I thought it might, but at the time I first thought about it I had already overspent the time allowed for Typomania-related stuff and so filed it away at the back of my mind in the burgeoning compartment labelled 'for when time permits'.
Another item in the same category is the a very minor error in the navigation of this site which is too dull to explain. Hopefully the solution this time will found as easily.
Nearly. I've managed to implement a fix of sorts but I've left the overall structure of the navigation and navigation logic in a stats that I'm not 100% happy with. Ah well - 'when time permits!'
Of course, the problem with working on one platform, (in my case Safari and Mac OS X), while your audience is using another, (most likely IE 6 or 7 on Windows), is that you can end up getting things just right on one and not so hot on the other. The image gallery is a good example. As soon as I had the gallery looking spot on on the Mac I noticed a couple of big problems on the PC - The thumbnails div had a vertical as well as horizontal scroll-bar and more importantly the main images were appearing in the page 1 pixel square. Both issues are sorted now though, so if you visited the gallery before you might now find it slightly more visually interesting.
I'm not sure if I ever will spoil this site with 3rd party ads, but the layout has been conceived to allow big fat banners here.
Perhaps I should start advertising 'Create your own version of this website for just £9.99 a month!'
